Veronica Lucas Studio Visit

This Sunday we traveled to Riverside to visit with graphic artist and printmaker Veronic Lucas. After contacting Veronica months ago about participating in the upcoming printmaking exhibit Under Pressure at Chaffey Community Museum of Art Todd finally got around to visiting Veronica.  Her work ethic shows in her prolific output of monotypes in a variety of imagery and techniques.

She is currently working with encaustics.  After creating a monotype she applies different colors of wax, building up layers of semi-translucent layers. It will be interesting to see what she does with this medium once she masters it. Veronica has a great working relationship with Akua Intaglio inks and prints on Arches 88. The results are born out in the wonderful mix of colors, imagery and mark making evident in her prints. Thank you Veronica. To see more of her work visit or see her work in person this summer at the Chaffey Community Museum of Art in Ontario, California.
